Research shows that yoga postures or Asana can help manage or control anxiety, arthritis, asthma, back pain, blood pressure, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue, depression, diabetes, epilepsy, headaches, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, stress and other conditions and diseases. Yoga Asana can also; Improve muscle tone, flexibility, strength and stamina Reduce stress and tension Boost self esteem Improve concentration and creativity Lower fat Improve circulation Stimulate the immune system Create a sense of well being and calm. The ancient yogis realised the intimate connection between the breath and the mind. Breath work or Pranayama can help improve concentration, instil endurance with its meditative and rhythmical qualities and can release tension and relieve pain. Breath work can help strengthen the nervous and digestive systems. When we are able to take deep full breaths during challenging asanas, it helps us to stay entered and in control when faced with other life challenges.
